Doug, The reason why you can't get hold of DirectTV is because they just reached over 4 million "subscribing" customer base (cable is 11 million). DirectTV just took over USSB and Dishnetwork. The company (father company is GM, heard of em??) just tripled it's size in less than a year. They just put up 2 additional satellites in space (HDTV and ParaTodos). The reason why you can't get a hold of them is because they still have the original 3 buildings throughout the US to handle customer calls. By the beginning of next year, DirectTV will hire an additional 30,000 employees, and add 4 additional building throughout the US to handle all customer calls. If you are patient with them, they will take care of you. Remember, like any new venture, you will always come across roadblocks. DirectTV is the only true satelite network system of its kind!! They're the ones that started this whole thing!!! They've just come across a major roadblock, but they have addressed and are now taking care of the situation.. Hey, believe me, you want a piece of DirectTV!!!! AOL (heard of them??) gave GM/DirectTV $1.2 billion so that the 2 companies can merge together to bring satellite and internet access all into one unit!!!
