Use your Pronto to control your heating and cooling system! This special thermostat can be controlled by manually pressing the buttons on the wall mounted thermostat face, or it can be controlled remotely by sending it X-10 signals.

Since the Pronto remote can send X-10 signals, it is a perfect product to remotely control your heating and cooling system. What makes the Pronto so great for this is that you can create customized panels for your heating and cooling system (like you didn't know this already!)

Some Basics - The Pronto remote sends X-10 IR signals that must be converted to AC powerline X-10 signals. This is accomplished through an X-10 transceiver. The transceiver has a built-in IR sensor that receives the IR signal sent by Pronto, and since it is plugged into an AC receptacle it is able to then send the corresponding X-10 signal on the AC powerline. This product (transceiver) is necessary for Pronto to activate lights or any other type of X-10 controlled device (including the thermostat discussed here).

The X-10 controlled thermostat can be installed in place of your existing thermostat using the same wiring. The LCD green back lit display can be set for Fahrenheit or Centigrade, and it will work with standard forced air and heat pump systems.

The thermostat has 4 modes of operation: Heating, Cooling, Auto, and Off. These modes can be selected by pressing a button on the thermostat, or you can enter these modes by using your Pronto. You can also directly set the thermostat to any temperature between 60 and 90
degrees F by using your Pronto, or on the thermostat. Once you set the temperature, you can adjust it up or down using your Pronto.

In addition, you can use other wireless X-10 remotes to control your thermostat from other rooms in your home. Inexpensive wireless RF X-10
remotes are available that allow you control your thermostat from anywhere in your home.

Please send me an e-mail if you would like more information on this product, including a picture of the thermostat and a sample Pronto screen shot that could be used to control the thermostat.
