This is not a single code. It is a bunch of movement through the menus. It is a pain to do it this way.
Oh, yeah, the process varies from model to model and from year to year. Some of these TVs even give you audio out without turning the speakers off. They haven't figured out one way that they want to do it.
The TV has several inputs based on the assumption that the TV will be used as a connection and switching center. The receiver has several inputs based on the assumption that IT will be used as a connection and switching center.
If you connect your DVD player to the receiver, then feed video to the TV, your problem will be solved, unless you want to sometimes play the DVD through the TV without turning on your audio/video system. If you want to do that, you could always pick up one of those channel 3/4 modulators that turns on when it sees video, and run the audio and video outputs of your DVD player through that, then into the receiver. Unless, of course, you are using component signals...........
The usual solution is to conceive of the TV as picture only, no sound, just a monitor, and run the audio through the Pioneer only.
Is there something about what you are trying to do that makes this undesirable?
