This decade old post has more about SMARTTECH displays than I could find on Reddit and AVSforums!! Hopefully someone here could shed light on my unique issue since SMARTTECH themselves couldn’t point me in the right direction…

I have an 8084i-G4 with the XTM HDMI module in the OPS slot. My problem is the fans above this slot are so loud! I’m guessing the bearings are shot bc of how old the unit is.

I found in the community support documentation there is a part that disables the fans for this very issue

[Link: community.smarttech.com]

This part 1026351 is of course is no longer available and quite difficult to find even on eBay etc.

“contact SMART Technical Support to order part 1026351 to disable the fans. (This is intended for use only with a SMART XTM module)”

Unplugging the fan headers from the control board inside gives a fan error making the panel unusable. I can’t really replace or clean the fans either.

If I had more information on this mysterious part 1026351 and how it does what it says it should, maybe I can recreate it assuming it’s a simple jumper or even something software related. I would rather not remove the XTM just to silence the fans since doing that also disables the top and side USB ports.

Anyone have experience with this special “fan disabling” part?
