you need to plug your FLIRC into your computer, load up the software, and that is how you tell the FLIRC which remote codes translate into which button on the shield remote. FLIRC does NOT just add a remote receiver to the sheild, it is smarter than that.

you can use the nvidia shield codesset so you should not need to re-prog your remote.

load the software and it will become apparent what you need to do
