The mx780 and hopper use different RF frequencies, URC only knows one RF frequency their own, it will control it by IR.
Urc knows two frequencies, technically, 418 MHz and 433 MHz. However they will only work with their own RF base. Regular is 418 MHz and "i" series is 433 MHz. If you have an "I" remote, you will need an " I" basestation.
