I have a Sony KDL-42W705B TV with an Xbox One connected to it. I recently bought an Xbox remote control (PDP Talon Official Xbox One remote control) with the hope of controlling both devices with it (only require volume and power control of the TV). It doesn’t look like the remote control code is published anywhere in the Sony TV manual and I’ve already tried quite a few generic Somy remote control codes I’ve found online with no joy (Sony support have not been able to help either). I did have a NowTV stick plugged into the Sony TV and the NowTV remote was able to control the power and volume of the Sony TV straight away without me having to enter any remote control codes (I believe it’s likely the NowTV remote is a learning remote?).
Anyone know of how I can get the Xbox remote to work with the Sony TV, or anyone have any more codes I can try?
I have noticed mini projects online using an Arduino to decode IR signals, but I’m unsure how to translate these IR signals into a single remote control code.
