Eureka! After about two hours of making my last post above, I went back to the machine, loaded the same downloaded software from a cdr, somewhere in there I think I was prompted to put the old original cd rom and I went through the whole process again , connected the remote and it connected! The only thing that I can recall doing differently is that I used the docking station when I tried to reconnect the second time. While everything was working, I made the necessary changes to the remote, saved the configuration. Im very thankful I got this working after all this time. Thanks for your help. Pete
