for me it simpler then that, even if a great person were to run there is no way to win without $$$. And there is no way to get $$$ without making deals with the devils. And if you win they will be there asking for you to return the favour.
So, to take your thought a step further, when money and favors is the name of the game, how is it possible for a thinking person to claim one party has more integrity than the other, unless you make that claim with some political bias?
