I’ve had a Schlage BE469 installed at home for years, it gets used a lot. When the temperature drops below -30c you can tell it’s working harder to unlock the door but I’ve had no issues. Simple solution is to install fresh batteries beginning of December every winter. I change batteries maybe twice a year.

I previously worked for a Wireless internet provider, we did a R & D project for alarm.com platform. I installed about 15 Schlage and kwikset deadbolts and handles. Only issue I found was the kwikset were absolutely horrible for inclusion range with some z-wave controllers. The controller would have to be basically touching the lock. Outside of that your biggest performance issue is gonna be tied to how square the door was installed and how good your latch alignment is.
