I have a NAD D 3020 amplifier that comes with a remote controller, but the remote is crap (and I'm not the only one to say it, see [Link: whathifi.com], [Link: avforums.com] for example). Fortunately, they have a document with all the remote codes, some of which are not even available with the supplied remote. The codes are something like:

Function: Power Off
Format: NEC
Address Hex: 877C
Data Hex: C8
Address Dec: 34684
Data Dec: 200

I would like to replace this with a universal remote, or at least with a remote that can be programmed. But I can't find any where I can use these code. All I've found rely in one of:
  • Pre-programmed codes: I can't be sure they support the device, at most they just give some brand-based codes, but they don't list the model.
  • Learning from the original remote: I can't accept that, the remote is completely unreliable or just broken. Even if I manage to make it work once for "teaching", it's quite possible it won't work at all in a couple of years.
  • Some online database requiring specific software not available for Linux: I don't have easy access to Windows or Mac.
Is there some remote out there that would let me use directly the codes released by NAD? Or at least, can you suggest some remote that is "guaranteed" to work with the NAD D 3020 without too much hassle?
