I have a pair of customer T4's that get into trouble after some weeks on site. I can't get good feedback from the customer beyond "doesn't work". This is an issue that goes back several years. Fresh batteries may help, but I don't have good data about this.

My observation is that communication with the base station is lost. There are two rooms and an XP6 for each room. A symptom that I have observed on some visits is that, after I touch a button, there is no reply from the processor. This results in the remote not jumping to the proper page. For example; touching "Watch TV" does not issue any device commands and the display does not jump to the cable TV activity. Rebooting T4 cures things for some weeks.

Is anyone aware of a program hack that can force the T4's to reboot -- perhaps once a week?

It's not likely the case of these two T4's being flaky. Between the main and vacation properties (separated by more than 50 miles) there are seven T4's and swapping T4's between locations yields similar results in the above location. Since T4's are not the most reliable beasts on the block, there is one extra, floating unit. As a T4 goes in for repair we swap with the failed unit and the repaired unit becomes available for the next event. The programs in the houses are similar, but different. The above main house is much simpler because there are only two rooms, while there are four T4 rooms at the vacation house. (we use a single XP8 at the vacation house.)

I'm not using WiFi on the T4's.
