A dongle is a DIY method. I am a professional, yes you can have all your Internet of Things connected round your house with the 15 hub's it takes to control all these things, and the 15 apps to boot.

CEC in my opinion is still half baked, yes it does work, some times.

If a 40 quid driver is too much for you then that's your issue, not a single customer has complained at the cost of the driver as well as my programming time to fit an Amazon fire TV to their RTI system. And I have been going back to clients and fitting about 1 or 2 a week since the Grand Tour was first announced it was going to be on Amazon, thankyou Amazon!
