I'm new here and I hope that I selected the right section for this thread.
I have a remote controlled Volleroy & Boch bubble bath. Unfortunately the batteries in the remote went empty and acid leaked into the remote destroying part of the circuit board. Unfortunately, the remote is the only way to operate my bath. No replacement remote can be bought (model too old and nothing on amazon), which makes it hard to find a replacement.
I have several universal remotes at home which I tried to use to find the right IR codes for my bath. Unfortunately, I have not found a working code yet. What doesn't help is that the remotes rely on me specifying a devicetype / brand first. Ofcourse bath and Villeroy & Boch are not found in any of the databases of the remote. Moreover, there is no option to cycle through all the codes in the database with the universal remotes I have. This leaves me to select a random devicetype (TV, Home cinema etc) and brand and hope for the best cycling through the codes. No luck yet...

I was thinking that if I can just find the right IR codes (on/off and a button to toggle through 3 modes) I could then program a waterproof universal remote.
I was wondering the following:
- Is there some cheap universal remote out there that allows you to easily cycle through all codes in a large database?
- Alternatively, is there some USB - IR unit available for a PC and a program that lets you easily cycle through all possible codes?

Maybe there is someone on this forum with better ideas? I'm all ears...
