I've been reading so many threads on various forums researching this and really haven't gotten any closer to reaching a decision.

I've considered getting a pair of Jamo IC610 just to see how they sound, but if I don't like them, I just made a pretty large hole...

Given that its just music and the main time it will be very loud would be with a decent amount of people over so putting more lower cost speakers like a monoprice or various others has been another thought.

I plan to ultimately install speakers throughout a majority of the home, so if I'm not satisfied with the sound, I can replace with something else in the main area and move it to a hall or bathroom as long as it doesn't require a smaller cutout. But I would like to try and get the right speaker the first time.

To start, I'd like to try and get the family room sounding good and will be the most difficult location to fill with sound. It has a 20' flat ceiling and 9' tall openings on 3 sides. Floor is wood. Dimensions are 19'x20'

Thanks for the help!
