Just bought this Pronto as an upgrade from my black and white version. I was surprsied to find that it connects via a RS232 cable. My vista laptop does not have a serial port, so I have a USB to RS232 cable. I have had to mess to ensure the port is COM1, and the PC recognises the cable ok, but I cannot upload or download to the pronto.

The message I keep getting is, "found COM1 ok, but Pronto is not on or connected". I have tried all variations to get it recognised but I am getting no where. I can only presume the cable is not campatible.

Could anyone provide some advice on what I could try next or recommend a cable that works with vista.
