And what about the RF setup in the remote I asked about? You're sure that the lighting device in programming is set to output RF, right?

If you have a standalone version now of mx editor, load a blank config. Then create a new one with just the lighting and make sure the lighting device in RF setup is set to RF. Now try and pair the remote to the dimmer.

Report back after that...new empty config file with just the lighting set to RF.

You need to put a dummy RF base into the program so that it 'enables' RF selection for the lighting devices, even if everything is IR controlled.
