Looking for some help! We are currently remodeling our house and when they took the walls down they also removed the little white wall mounted volume controllers that were connected to my Pioneer Elite. Audio/Video Multi Channel Receiver VSX-94TXH and my Niles 12 Channel Amp SI-1230 and ulitmately sourcing music through an iPod.

I am now contemplating the best most cost effective way to use an iPad to operate the speaker volume remotely and independently (10 total pairs of speakers).

I am only looking to have a single music source (iPod) which I would like to operate via an iPad to indepentantly turn up, down or off the volume on a per room basis. Due to the large cost of the remodel I am trying to accomplish this cost effectively and that is why I am not going with a Sonos device per every pair of speakers ($350/piece). **Also, I am not looking for streaming music at this point in time.

Seems like a rather simple request; but I am finding out that it is not so simple if I want each room volume to be operated seperately. I would appreciate learning the suggestions of the experts. Also, if my only route or path of least resistance is to simply re-wire the physical wall based volume controllers, then please let me know.

Thanks in advance.
