I have inherited a job from another dealer and I need to make some changes to their Pronto. I have a couple of versions of the software on different computers but cant open the pcf file I have been sent.

No.
If it is a PCF file you will need
Philips ProntoEdit NG for the black and white versions (TSU3000, TSU3500, RU950 or RU960) or
Philips ProntoProEdit NG for colour ones (TSU7000, TSU7500, RU980 or RU990).
Although any version of Philips PCF will open in any of the above software versions you will get a warning if you open it in the opposite version which will tell you what version of PCF file you have.
You will need to use the correct software version to load to the remote.
