Dear specialists,

I would love to be able to control my HomeEasy light sockets with my Pronto 9400's. Is that possible?

I found ths heasy_makehex.zip from RICK HUNT on this website but I'm really clueless what to do with it...

Any help or advice or a manual would really be appreciated and would make me cherish my Pronto even more!

Thanks and happy 2012

Hi, you are in the wrong forum here.

However unfortunately I don't know of any way that will work with your 9400 as the RF it out-puts is not standard RF.

It does work with the older RF Prontos such as the RU960, 970, 980, 990 and the Marantz equivalent models that out-put 433MHz RF to use the extender. It just so happens that they coincidentally control other RF stuff such as HomeEasy because most Euro RF is also 433MHz and some cleaver folks have worked out the codes. I currently use a Marantz RC9500 [Pronto RU990] to do this with HomeEasy and get excellent results.

I have just bought the Bang & Olufsen version of this, the standard version of which will control HomeEasy via your "Learning" 9400. It is a very small box which you program on the PC, teach your learning remote the IR codes it makes then you point your remote at it and it then sends the RF to the HomeEasy.

Sorry for posting it in the wrong forum. I'm not familiar with this yet so please advice and I'll try to move this thread!

Thanks for your quick reply Stoobie.
So basically if I buy that little box, I point my HomeEasy remote at it and make my TSU9400 learn a new IR code (the little box translates the transmitted HomeEasy RF signal to IR)?
Than the TSU9400 can send an IR signal to the little box that translates it to RF which the HomeEasy socket understands?

Hi again,

The little box has to be plugged into the PC and programmed. The codes for HomeEasy are built in to the box so you don't need the original HomeEasy remote and once you have programmed for a HomeEasy socket/switch it will out-put IR for your TSU9400 to learn. I think you need to do that for each socket/switch that you have would use a different button on the original remote.

I think that is roughly how it works. It is differnt for the Bang & Olufsen (B&O) version because my B&O remote does not have to "learn" from the little box as it already knows the B&O IR that it will recieve. (if that make sense!!!)

Then when you un-plug the box from your PC and place it in the room for everyday use, connect it to a power socket and place in view of your TSU9400, when you press the leaned button on your Pronto it sends IR to the box which it already recognises and switches on/off or dims/brightens the item.

If you go on the site you can download the software for free to play with. It seems complicated at first but you soon get the hang of it.

If I was doing it on my Marantz (Pronto) I would learn all the codes as they are produced to a hiden page and then "link" my buttons on screen to those so I can design the screen as I want. I am not familiar with the TSU9400 but I'm sure you do the same on that.

Being on the wrong forum just means that those who know about your remote probably won't see your posting to reply.

I think you can ask the moderator to move it to the Philips Pronto Professional forum.

Cheers Stoobie

I've got a tsu9600, a rfx9600 and one of these: [Link: intellihome.be] to controll my homeEasy stuff with. I can even send absolute dim levels so that I can do lightning scenes.
It's a good couple of minutes per lamp, but I think it's worth it.
I use Rick's great program.
You just chose "ultra" on the left side, enter a code or name for the lamp, choose if you want all codes, or just on/off etc. and out comes a .txt file with the codes. input these in a new device in your config.
